Coordinating the CPEC Cultural Caravan: An International Art and Culture Project on the Silk Route
Shahnawaz Chachar served as the project coordinator for the CPEC Cultural Caravan, an international art and culture project showcasing the transition from the ancient Silk Route to the modern Economic Corridor. He led a creative team, playing a key role in strategic planning and project development. He developed operational plans and sponsor proposals, managed project resources and budget, and engaged with key stakeholders and client teams. The project involved artists, musicians, photographers, painters, choreographers, folklorists, and filmmakers who documented the history, art, and culture along the route. Launched by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in collaboration with the Federal Information Ministry and the Chinese Embassy, the project promoted cultural diversity, exchange, and integration between China and Pakistan. The project spanned two phases: Xi’an (China) to Islamabad (Pakistan) and Urumqi (China) to Gwadar (Pakistan). It also included seminars, exhibitions, screenings, performances, and shows in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. The project contributed to the creative economy and cultural industry of Pakistan. AWARE: A Peace and Interfaith Harmony Project in Sindh Province of Pakistan.
Shahnawaz Chachar served as the project manager for AWARE, a peace and interfaith harmony project funded by the Foreign Commonwealth Office UK through DAI and implemented by Marvi Rural Development Organization in two Sindh province districts. The project aimed to promote peace and interfaith harmony among 169,000 people. He conducted baseline studies, oriented staff, designed the methodology, and engaged with stakeholders. Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Pakistan’s Elections and Governance
Shahnawaz Chachar led the STAEP (Strengthening Transparency, Accountability, and Electoral Processes) project as program manager. Funded by The Asia Foundation and managed by FAFEN (Free & Fair Elections Network) and implemented by GSF (Goth Seengar Foundation) in three National Assembly constituencies in Sindh, the project aimed to improve elections and governance. Shahnawaz Chachar managed ENI’s (Oil & Gas Company) CSR project as program manager, a community development initiative implemented by the Goth Seengar Foundation in Sehwan Jamshoro district. Leading a team of 70, he supported 14 community schools, 6 rural health facilities, drinking water delivery, and other activities funded by ENI Oil & Gas. The project improved living standards, education, health, and environment. Flood Emergency Relief Projects: Supporting Livelihood and WASH in Sindh
As head of operations for Goth Seengar Foundation, Shahnawaz Chachar led Livelihood Cash for Work and WASH projects in post-flood Sindh. Funded by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the projects supported over 30,000 beneficiaries. GSF, with CRS support, provided seed, fertilizer, and PKR 30,000 for 32,000 families in Jacobabad. He led teams, managed interventions (baseline studies, beneficiary assessments, mega distributions, awareness sessions), managed budget, timeline, and resources, and communicated with the donor.
